Project title: Quantum Safe Cryptography
Project description: Most of the public key encryption systems in use today can be broken if a full-scale quantum computer is built. A lot of resources are being spent on the research and development of such computers worldwide, which illustrates the need for post-quantum cryptography. This includes design and analysis of encryption schemes that are based upon mathematical problems believed to be hard for both quantum and classical computers. Multivariate cryptography, one of the main subcategories of post-quantum cryptography, is of particular interest to me. The encryption schemes of this type are based upon the hardness of solving systems of multivariate polynomials over finite fields.
