Project title: Towards Self-Healing Software through Anomaly Detection and Adaptive learning
Project description: By design, conventional V&V techniques can only check for anticipated faults. However, it impossible to anticipate all possible problems that can be encountered in modern software-intensive systems. Therefore, there is a need to devise complementary techniques that can monitor systems while in operation, and contain any unanticipated faults that remained after conventional V&V. The main objective of this Ph.D. project is to contribute towards achieving self- healing properties in a software system by means of artificial immune systems (AIS). These will enable the detection and containment of anomalies during the execution of such software-intensive systems.
