Project title: Risk-based adaptive security for internet of things in eHealth
Project description: The research intends to build risk-based adaptive security for Internet of Things (IoT) in eHealth. Healthcare applications can get many benefits from the IoT technologies. However, IoT is very dynamic and vulnerable to attacks because mostly communication is wireless, have energy constraints, and is not capable of implementing complex security solutions due to limited computational capabilities. The available security methods are not accustomed to adapt the dynamic and complex environment of IoT. Adaptive security has a potential in providing timely and fine grained security control. Adaptive security approach not only has the tendency to understand the context information and anticipate the threat situation but it also has the potential to adjust the internal working parameter such as encryption mechanism, access control, and security policies. Risk-based adaptive security will enable IoT in eHealth to securely collect patient’s health data, securely identify and adaptively track objects and people, which will certainly improve eHealth services by reducing the delays for treatment of patients.
