Project title: 2D and 3D Ear Recognition
Project description: My roject is about automatic ear recognition from CCTV images for forensic identification of perpetrators. The outer ear is frequently used for maually collecting evidence about a person’s identity. However, there are no state of the art methods for automatic identification using ears, so the characteistic cannot be used for automatic retrieval in large databases.
The goal of the project is to develop an automatic ear recognition approach, that will be used along with several face recognition approach in a mockup-system for identifying persons from video. For solving probelms with pose variations, a 3D reference image is used.
